Initial Evaluation – 60 minutes – The purpose of this session is to meet you and get a sense of why you are seeking treatment. During this session I will gather information about what is bringing you to treatment, any medical issues, family history and medications you have tried currently and in the past. I generally will recommend exercise, dietary changes, therapy and medication. There is no one size fits all treatment plan but I do find that there is great value in exploring these options.

Initial Evaluations without insurance are $350.00; with insurance it is subject to your copay, coinsurance or deductible.

New Patient forms – please fill these out prior to your initial evaluation with Dr. Sheehan. You can email them directly to my assistant, Jennifer, at or you can bring them to your initial appointment.

Follow up appointments – 60 or 30 minutes – One has the option to choose between a 60 minute or 30 minute session. I usually find 30 minutes is a good amount of time to review changes that have been made and updates that have occurred between appointments. I do not do “therapy” in the conventional sense of seeing people on a weekly basis, but often times people do prefer to have hour long check ins every month or two just to have time to get to everything they would like to talk about. These appointments are designed to check in and see how medication and therapy are going. There is no set schedule for how often they need to occur. Generally they are dictated by how one is doing – if medication changes are made and an individual is not doing well it is common to follow up in a month or less. Those that are doing well and stable on medication often only check in every 3 or 4 months. I do prefer follow up appointments to be “in person” but realize that time and distance may prevent that so please ask about scheduling online appointments if that is more convenient. One would simply go to the website and would be in my “virtual waiting room”.

Follow up appointments without insurance for 60 minutes are $250 and for 30 minutes are $175. Again, if you have insurance please check with them to verify your benefits so you will know exactly how much you owe and how much your deductible is. We make every attempt to try to do this prior to appointments, but sometimes we are incorrect. There are a lot of plans even under the limited number of insurances that I accept. I always hate to update someone that they owe a lot more than they originally thought, so please make every effort to confirm how much your insurance will cover.
